Moving a mature tree is part science, part art, and a lot of heavy lifting. We've moved more than 800 trees over the last 12 years — from a 35-year-old banyan on a tight urban lot, to a 12-metrain Ashoka tree that was blocking a swimming pool rebuild.
When you need tree transplanting
- You're rebuilding and the tree is in the way
- You're landscaping a new property and want to save an existing tree
- The tree has outgrown its current location (too close to a building, blocking a view)
- You're dividing a plot and need to relocate a tree to stay on your side
Our process
- Assessment: Species, age, size, health, root system, and destination — all assessed for viability.
- Root pruning (3–6 months before the move): We cut the roots in a radius around the trunk to encourage a compact root ball.
- Move day: The tree is dug (by hand for small trees, with a tree-spade or air-tool for larger ones), wrapped in hessian, transported, and replanted in its new location with stakes and a watering ring.
- Establishment care (12 months): Monthly visits, deep watering, fertilisation, and pruning.
Survival rate
Our 12-month survival rate is 94% across all species. Native species (peepal, banyan, neem, ashoka) transplant at 98%+. Exotic species (eucalyptus, silver oak) at 85–90%.
What it costs
Small trees (up to 10 cm caliper) start from ₹12,000. Medium trees (10–25 cm) ₹25,000–₹60,000. Large trees (25–40 cm) ₹80,000–₹200,000. Includes root pruning, move, replanting, and 12 months of establishment care.
