Terracotta Pot 8 inch

Hand-thrown terracotta pot, 8″ diameter, fired at 1,050°C for 12 hours. Made in Nelamangala by a third-generation potter who has been supplying us since 2018.

Why terracotta?

Unglazed terracotta is porous — the walls breathe, allowing air to the roots and excess moisture to evaporate. This is the same material the world's gardens have used for 10,000 years, and for good reason: it works.

Sizing

8″ (20 cm) outer diameter, 7″ (18 cm) inner diameter, 7″ (18 cm) height. Holds approximately 2.5 litres of soil. Fits plants in 4–6″ pots.

Care

• Soak in water for 30 minutes before first use to prevent the dry clay from wicking moisture away from the roots.
• Pair with a saucer or place on gravel if used indoors — the porous walls will mark wooden surfaces.
• Winter care: bring indoors in regions that experience frost.
